Bower Street Morris Dancers
High leaping morris dancing from Margate in orange and teal
Margate’s premier (and only) high leaping morris team come to Folkestone! Formed out of a fever dream at a folk festival, Bower Street perform the traditional dances of the Gloucestershire village of Bledington alongside a few they made up. Look out for the flash of white, the bright orange and teal ribbons and their very loud bells, as they dance at the Harbour Arm and then around Folkestone.
Bower Street are a very queer, young team who believe the word ‘folk’ includes everyone! They even include a few Folkestone residents in their team. They’re often seen hopping around their native Margate, host club nights there and have appeared at festivals and gigs all over the country.
